Marquee scrollamount Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are a system of alternate schools for gifted students in India. They were established by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education (formerly Ministry of Human Resource Development). JNVs aim to provide quality education to talented children predominantly from rural areas, regardless of their socio-economic background. The selection process for admission to JNVs is based on a national level entrance examination conducted by the respective State governments. These schools follow the CBSE curriculum and are residential in nature, providing free education, boarding, and lodging to students. JNVs have been instrumental in promoting equity in education by offering opportunities to meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds .
